HIGH SPEED CINEMATOGRAPHY AT CCS

Prologue chose Civic Center Studios as their location to shoot high speed footage for the intro to the Starz show Camelot.  The monumental shots of the Welsh flag, Excalibur being pulled from the lake and falling back in, as well as Merlin’s bubbling potions, were all shot in our studio.  The talented collection of artists at Prologue were able to visually represent the iconic mythos of Camelot with a few lights, a camera, and of course Civic Center Studios.

Prologue Films is a motion-graphics design company specializing in film and broadcast work. Led by Kimberly and Kyle Cooper, the firm, based in Venice, CA, has become a leader in the field of film-title design, an art form that Kyle Cooper has revitalized over the past decade. Holding to the notion that the opening of a film is a crucial storytelling element that orients viewers toward what is to come, Prologue has raised the standard of title design through its work on a range of blockbuster and independent films, including Spiderman 2 and Spiderman 3, Dawn of the Dead, Across the Universe, and The Painted Veil.

CIVIC CENTER STUDIOS PARTNERS WITH FILM INDEPENDENT

LOS ANGELES (October 10, 2011) - We are excited and proud to announce our new partnership with Film Independent.  For the past year Civic Center Studios has provided an efficient and convenient production venue in downtown Los Angeles for music videos, commercials, television and independent film.  Through our collaboration with Film Independent, Civic Center Studios hopes to support the next wave of independent filmmakers.

As part of our partnership, Film Independent will produce their trailers for the 2012 Los Angeles Film Festival and 2012 Spirit Awards on our stage.  For over 30 years Film Independent has been at the cutting edge of independent cinema and presenting new ideas about how films get made in Los Angeles. Along with their signature diversity program Project Involve, developmental filmmaker labs and networking events; Film Independent also produces the Spirit Awards and Los Angeles Film Festival.

We believe that this new venture will not only benefit Civic Center Studios and Film Independent, but will ultimately benefit independent filmmakers who find themselves locked out of traditional avenues of production.
